Kansu Bowl Massage (Kansa Vati)
Kansu foot bowl massage is an authentic Indian foot massage followed by the application of a kansu bowl to draw out the toxins. As this happens the feet often turn black, indicating how much toxicity is being held in the body. This Ayurvedic treatment dates back over 5000 years, and helps to bring balance to bodymind, the doshas and the 5 universal elements.
What To Expect From A Treatment
This treatment begins with 20 minutes of relaxing foot massage, to relieve any tension, pain or tightness from the feet, toes and ankles. This is followed by 10 minutes of kansu foot bowl treatment, where light friction is applied in circular or linear motions, drawing out the toxins stored in the soles of the feet, turning them black. In accordance to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine and reflexology, by working the meridian points of the feet we stimulate a full body relaxation effect, often inducing an altered state of consciousness.
What Is A Kansu Bowl?
Kansu bowls are traditionally made from an alloy containing 5 metals; gold, silver, zinc, tin and copper. Each metal is known for their therapeutic qualities and ability to conduct energy, and will alter the body’s resonance. The 5 metal elements resonate with the 5 Universal elements and help to bring them into balance, particularly fire, or agni, which when overactive creates inflammation, poor digestion, anger, stress and resentment.
